After quite an ordeal getting the old valve out, I was surprised to see that there was no crud blocking up the system behind the valve. I can only assume something made its way into the chamber that holds the check ball and caused it to bind up. Hard to tell though since I had to basically destroy most of it during removal. With the new valve in place, I have much more even pressure through both jets. This write up proved very helpful: La-Z-Link Although in the end, I did end up going the route of a slide hammer rather than pulling with spacers. IMO it is much quicker and less risky. Big shoutout to ZXoltan for all the advice, and time spent testing on his own parts! This seems like a very strange and extremely uncommon phenomenon, but hopefully my posts will help someone solve this issue again in the future.
